Calibration Benches™

Torque wrenches tighten bolted connections and torque them to keep the structural parts firmly pressed together. To ensure that the torque wrench applies the correct torque, it must be calibrated. This page describes the different calibration devices of Radial Torque.

Why do torque wrenches require calibration?

During calibration, the intended torque of the torque wrench is assessed in comparison to the actual torque it applies. Calibrating torque wrenches is crucial to ensure that bolts and nuts are tightened with the desired amount of torque. Utilizing a calibration device allows a torque wrench to be adjusted to produce accurate torque values, making it suitable for tasks that demand precision bolting.

RAD Transducer series

The RAD Transducer series are accurate calibration benches used worldwide. The accuracy and repeatability of the RAD Calibration Benches have an excellent reputation in calibration laboratories. The completely new RAD Calibration System is specially designed for calibrating RAD (and similar) torque guns. It is also possible to calibrate hydraulic torque wrenches.

Torque wrench: calibration device

The system is available in two sizes of which the longer model can be equipped with two transducer sizes depending on the required torque. The calibration values can be read directly from the transducer screen. In addition, the calibration values can be read and stored by connecting the RAD transducer to the supplied tablet using the RAD calibration software.

The RAD calibration system consists of a steel base plate, the transducer, the simulation bolt connection, impact sockets and a tablet with associated (pre-installed) RAD calibration software.
